Phoebe is the biggest of the irregular moons orbiting Saturn. It has a dark cratered surface and it may be a centaur, originating in the Kuiper Belt.
This small vase is the ninth vase in the series 274 moons / 274 vases. Phoebe was made entirely by hand with a groggy red stoneware clay. I glazed it with my white matte glaze and then applied a special manganese-iron oxide on the rim. The inside features a white matte glaze.
Phoebe is not perfectly round.
The vase was coiled by hand and fired up to 1240C.
The vase is functional and measures 12 cm in height and around 8 cm in diameter at its middle (largest) point.
All the glazes are formulated and made by me.
Certificate of authenticity will be provided.
