Autumnal Equinox Cup Nr.2

Equinoxes and solstices are moments of transition. From one season to the next, from light to darkness, from energy to rest. These moments remind me that eventually everything passes, that the river runs no matter what we do, that the hot summer comes to an end and that the chilly air does not wait to be invited in. 

This stoneware cup was hand-pinched from a small ball of red clay. It invites us to slow down and invite in a new season. 

You will receive the cup pictured. There is some variation among them but they measure around 7 cm in height and 9 cm in diameter. 

The outside features my lava glaze and a few other of my glazes, in a swirl of color that is captivating and dynamic.  The inside is glazed with my matte white glaze. 

It is handmade so it is not a perfect round object. 

All my pieces are handmade by me in my Berlin studio. They feature glazes I made and formulated. I recommend hand-washing this particular cup.
