Erinna - porcelain hand-carved ring dish
Regular price€39,00 Sale pricePickup currently unavailable
Erinna was an Ancient Greek poet (around 500BC). Along with Sappho, she was very well known at the time. Her most famous work is the Distaff, a 300-line hexameter poem. The Distaff is a lamentation of the loss of a dear friend.
A crater on Venus of 33km in diameter was named after her (see last photo for the actual image of this crater).
This porcelain ring dish is around 8cm in diameter. It is not a perfectly round shape. It was formed entirely by hand, carefully decorated with texture that reminds of a flower or a crater and then glazed with a transparent glaze.
