Ymir, named after the Norse ancestor of all the frost giants, is an irregular moon orbiting Saturn of a rather reddish color.
This small vase is the twenty-second vase in the series 274 moons / 274 vases. Ymir was made entirely by hand with a groggy red stoneware clay, brushed with porcelain slip and then glazed in the inside with my matte white glaze. The outside is left raw and unglazed.
Ymir is not perfectly round.
The vase was coiled by hand and fired up to 1240C.
The vase is functional and measures 12 cm in height and around 8 cm in diameter at its middle (largest) point.
All the glazes are formulated and made by me.
Certificate of authenticity will be provided.
